We are proud to be locally owned and family-operated since our inception. Our story began when Riviera Barns and Garages, Bairnsdale, expanded operations into Sale in response to growing demand.
The Fair Dinkum Sheds shopfront in Raymond Street was manned by our first staff member, Tim Wallace. As the business grew, Tim progressed from sales consultant to manager before becoming part-owner in 2021. We now employ a team of six staff, manage over 10 local contractors and have relocated to our Patten Street office and warehouse.
Since opening in 2017, our quality work has been rewarded with outstanding reviews and repeat customers.

Tim is the heart behind Fair Dinkum Builds, Sale. He oversees the entire operation to ensure your dream shed or outdoor living area becomes a reality.
Lee oversees your contractors, coordinating trades, ordering materials, and managing deliveries to your site. His planning ensures a smooth construction process, keeping your project on schedule and completed on time.
Zach helps design your shed, barn, or outdoor space, ensuring plans meet Australian codes. He handles permits with surveyors and councils, keeps you updated, and simplifies the process to ensure compliance for a smooth, stress-free build.
Amy, the friendly face at Fair Dinkum Builds Sale, handles admin, accounting, and customer service, keeping things in order. She'll update you on permits, payments, and inspections—and she also looks after Roxy, the beloved Fair Dinkum dog.
Davo is our delivery driver. He liaises with Lee to get the right materials for your order from our warehouse to your site, and everything in between.
We’ll assess your site and advise what might work best for your location.
We’ll find out what you need and design it to suit. We’ll then supply a quote for your consideration.
We’ll create to-spec and compliant plans of your design. We can work together to arrange all relevant building approvals.
It’s important to prepare your site properly for your new build.
We manufacture your build in one of our Australia-wide sites and then transport to your site, ready for construction.
Whether you’re DIY or engaging others, we strongly advise you always use licensed contractors. In some areas our stores can offer full installation.
You should also consider what light, water, electrical and security requirements you’ll need. Depending on your design, other trades may be required.
